The First Church of Christ, Scientist

When you visit The First Church of Christ, Scientist in the Back Bay of Boston—and we hope you will—, you’ll be warmly welcomed. Everyone is invited to come in, look around, sit down, and hear God's Word.
Christ Jesus taught that God's Word brings healing and comfort to all who listen. Every week, local members come together to support Church services designed to help those attending discover the health, joy, peace, and love rightfully theirs as the dear children of God.

Sunday Church Services
- 10:00am and 7:00pm (except evenings in July and August)
You'll find a friendly greeting, music, singing, Scriptural readings, prayer, and a sermon based on a weekly Bible Lesson from the King James Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. These two books were ordained by Mary Baker Eddy as Pastor of the Church of Christ, Scientist. Stay as along as you'd like. Our services last about an hour.
If you'd like a preview, you can listen to the Sunday Church service from The Mother Church.
Wednesday Meetings
- 12:00pm and 7:30pm
The Wednesday testimonial meeting is more informal than the Sunday service. It begins with music and readings from the Bible and Eddy's Science and Health selected to comfort, inspire, and heal the congregation. Then people share insights as well as experiences and healings they’ve had as a result of their prayers and their study of Christian Science.
Sunday School
- 10:00 am, Sunday School Building and Children's Room of The Mother Church Extension
- Noon, Children's Room of the Extension
- 7:00 pm (except July and August), Children's Room of the Extension
The Sunday School welcomes all infants, children, and young people up to age 20 to lively classes where they learn about God, prayer, healing and the relevance of moral and spiritual law to their everyday lives. Infants are included in Sunday School with simple, appropriate expressions of Truth and Love.
